NYC's Pearl River Mart is Closing -- Design News

Pearl River Mart, the famed Chinese department store that's been a New York staple for more than four decades, is closing at the end of the year. Since 2003, the store has occupied three levels on Broadway in SoHo--its rent will increase more than five times when its lease is up. Pearl River is currently scouting smaller spaces on Canal, or considering going digital.
